The final rosters of the 16 teams participating in the second World Baseball Classic were released on Tuesday evening and they included a bevy of All-Stars. Team USA has Boston’s Dustin Pedroia, the Yankees’ Derek Jeter and San Diego’s Jake Peavy. Defending Japan’s roster includes Seattle’s Ichiro Suzuki and Boston’s Daisuke Matsuzaka. The Dominican Republic brings back Boston’s David Ortiz and adds Florida’s Hanley Ramirez. Team Canada boasts Boston’s Jason Bay and Minnesota’s Justin Morneau. And Puerto Rico has the Mets’ Carlos Beltran.

Twins right-hander Boof Bonser will undergo exploratory surgery on his right shoulder Wednesday in order to determine what has been causing the discomfort he’s been experiencing.

Twins catcher Joe Mauer has been on a road to recovery after missing out on the teams last few weeks of the season due to a torso injury. Now in spring training Mauer says he feels better than ever and is anxious to hit back on the field.

All-star centerfielder Vernon Wells will reportedly miss 2-4 weeks of spring training due to a pulled hamstring. Wells is expected to return healthy come season opener.

36 year old veteran outfielder Garret Anderson has reportedly agreed to a 1 year $2.5 million dollar contract with the Atlanta Braves. Garret Anderson whose spent the majority of his professional career with Anahiem is switching leagues and coast. Anderson had batted .293 with 15 long balls last season.

Future first ballot hall of famer outfielder Ken Griffey Jr has agreed to sign with the Seattle Mariners as he returns to the team he broke into the major leagues with. The spark of his future successful big league career. Also in the news spring training games are set to kickoff in less than 5 days.

Ken Griffey Jr who was expected to make his final decision on which team he would like to join between the Braves, and his original team the Seattle Mariners has delayed his decision for another day. Ken Griffey Jr who resides in orlando would be closer to his wife and kids if he picks Atlanta. Where on the other hand if he chose Seattle he would reunite with the team and great fans he broke into the majors with.
